Rivian - Staff Design Engineer for Interior/Exterior Team
Joining Rivian was more than just starting a job; it was embarking on an adventure. Inspired by their mission to keep the world adventurous forever, I eagerly embraced the challenge of designing emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles that push the boundaries of what's possible.
I started in UK in 2021 and relocated to California in 2023. I quickly integrated into Rivian's dynamic team, working on ongoing product development and new programs alongside colleagues in Michigan and California. As an Experienced Design Engineer specializing in Interior & Cockpit, I became the go-to expert for Right-Hand Drive (RHD) variants and later for Peregrine versions of R1, showcasing my ability to deliver under pressure.

I was 1 of 9 CAD Eng. to be part of Cad Committed which will establish Methods and CAD Techniques. This allows me to help upgrade the team's knowledge base in Rivian and establish me as an expert. My skill in design and collaborative creativity in conceptualization of new features align perfectly with the company's compass values.

One defining moment of my journey at Rivian was when I turned around three months of work in just three weeks. With unwavering determination and incredible teamwork, we not only met the deadline but also achieved significant cost savings, demonstrating the power of collaboration.
Another highlight was redesigning the Dash Insulator to enhance NVH performance while minimizing costs. By leveraging my expertise and working closely with the team, we achieved remarkable results, saving the company $500k and improving NVH performance by 2.5 dB.

In just 10 months, my contributions led to a remarkable $1 million in savings, highlighting the tangible impact of my work on Rivian's success. I am proud to be part of a team driving innovation and inspiring others to join us on this exciting journey towards a more adventurous and sustainable future.
At Rivian, I not only surrounded myself with exceptional talent but also discovered a passion for nurturing and guiding the next generation of engineers. As the go-to CAD engineer, I took on the responsibility of training junior engineers, helping them master CAD techniques and refine their design skills.
Working alongside these budding engineers was both challenging and rewarding. I embraced the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience, guiding them through complex projects and urgent deadlines. With patience and encouragement, I watched as they grew in confidence and skill, overcoming obstacles and exceeding expectations.

In the end, my journey at Rivian wasn't just about engineering—it was about mentorship, teamwork, and the collective pursuit of greatness. Reflecting on my time there, I take pride in the impact made and the legacy built together with my colleagues on the R1 and R2 platforms.
